Thoughts On Advertising and Traffic

It seems like all I hear about being successful in marketing on the internet is build a list, build a list, build a list.... Well that is important. Let's take one thing into consideration. Some may say it is the best way to market although most would agree that building a list is not the only way to market. For the beginning internet marketer it may be a bit difficult to manage the different aspects of building a list and it can be expensive depending on how it is done.

The beginning marketer should not overlook the use of traffic exchanges also known as TE's and safelists though not as effective as they once were are still a great place to advertise. Banner advertising is another inexpensive way to drive traffic to your sites.

Advertising equals traffic to your website. Driving traffic to your website equals sales or signups. This is the most important aspect of building your business on the internet. Without traffic you will fail. Those that have plenty of money to advertise may be able to advance toward their goals more rapidly than those who are a limited budget. This is not completely true because the biggest reason people fail is they give up to quickly. (See entry below.)

It doesn't matter what you call it. Advertising or driving traffic are basically the same thing. The most important thing is to do it consistently. The most important thing is to do it consistently. That is not a typo. It is that important and you don't have to spend a ton of money doing it.
